The idea behind Classmates 24/7 is to allow people to SUPPORT STUDENTS BY DOING THE THINGS THEY DO ALREADY. With this in mind, we want to offer products and sponsors for goods and services that you already use. Please tell us which goods and services you would like to see on Classmates 24/7.
Examples include:
Kayak for Travel- Kayak/Sidestep is a site that I have used for a long time to check for the lowest airfares, hotel prices and rental car rates. The thing I like is that the check multiple sites including most of the major airlines, hotel and car rental companies web pages. Kayak makes money from the ads it displays, not mark-ups or fees that you pay. Often time they show you the prices from more than one site. When you go to book, you can pick the lowest price and are redirected directly to that supplier's site.
Google for Search- Google offers a product called Adsense for Search that utilized Google's custom search engine that can be programmed to search specific sites or the entire web. For Classmates 24/7 we have set it up to search the entire web. Google makes most of its money from advertising, but searches the web for the best search results regardless of whether a page pays them on not.
Where do you currently shop online?
What other features would you like to see on your home page? Classmates 24/7 already includes RSS feeds from the Frisco Elementary School Calendar and the Summit Daily. We have links to Gmail, Hotmail, AOL, Yahoo, Everyday Mathematics, Spelling City and PBS Kids. What else would you like to see?
